Regular Fellows

The Regular Fellowship, awarded by the Society for Scientific and Technological Advancement (TSSTA), is a prestigious distinction granted to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and contributions in the realms of academia, scientific research, and community development. This fellowship serves not only as a hallmark of excellence but also as a formal recognition of the recipient’s dedication to the advancement of knowledge and societal betterment.

Receiving the FSSA title (Fellow of the Society for Scientific and Technological Advancement) significantly enhances your professional profile, offering increased credibility and respect within both academic and scientific communities. It also opens doors to valuable networks, interdisciplinary collaborations, invitations to speak at conferences, and participation in high-level research or policy initiatives. The fellowship affirms your status as a thought leader and change-maker within your field.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the FSSA title, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold an advanced degree (Master’s, PhD, or equivalent) in a recognised academic or professional discipline, or demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of sustained professional contribution at a senior level in their field.
  • Be nominated by a current FSSA Fellow or by a recognised academic institution, research organisation, or professional body. Unsupported self-applications will not be considered.
  • Identify two (2) specific contributions of significance to their field — in academia, scientific research, technology, or community development — and provide verifiable evidence of the impact those contributions have had beyond their immediate institution or organisation.
  • Have their nomination supported by at least two (2) reference letters from recognised professionals or experts in the relevant field, speaking specifically to the merit and impact of the nominated contributions rather than to the candidate’s general character or career history.

All nominations are reviewed by the SSTA Fellowship Evaluation Committee, comprising senior fellows and independent experts. The Committee evaluates candidates on the substance and reach of their contributions. Possession of a degree or professional title alone is not sufficient grounds for elevation — the fellowship is conferred on individuals whose work has made a demonstrable and lasting difference, and whose standing in their field sets them apart from the general body of qualified practitioners.

Validity of Fellowship

  • Lifetime Recognition: The FSSA title is granted as a lifetime honor. Fellows remain part of the SSTA community permanently and may be called upon for future engagements, including mentoring, reviews, and leadership roles within the Society.
